The house is on one level with a 20cm high doorstep to The Baker’s Suite and a 20cm high doorstep to the front door, giving access to the farmhouse style kitchen. There is a 14 cm high step down into the en-suite bathroom in The Baker’s Suite.
There is parking for 2 cars on a shingle driveway with parking available right next to The Baker’ Suite door. There is a paved pathway leading to both doors.
There is a cloakroom toilet with washbasin by the kitchen.
The bedroom is not suitable for people with pet allergies as we allow guest dogs to stay.
It has a carpeted floor & the bathroom has an anti-slip tiled floor.
There are 2 dining chairs and a dressing table chair with no arms. There is a leather armchair and chaise long.
The external door to the Baker’s Suite is a stable style door and is 84 cm wide; the door to the en-suite bathroom is 67cm wide.
There is a bath with shower over. There are no screens around the bath.
The sink in the bathroom is attached to the wall with a minimum clearance of 66cm underneath
The toilet is 43cm from the floor and the bath in 55cm high
We welcome any dogs, including assistance dogs.
We have a pet dog of our own (Purdy). She is not permitted in the guest bedroom or the kitchen whilst we are preparing food. However she does have access to the rest of the house, so The Old Bakery would not be suitable for anyone with a severe dog allergy.
Purdy is very friendly with everyone but she is bouncy! If guests request we can do our best to endeavour that Purdy is kept away for the duration of your stay.
We do not own cats/chickens/children! However we are a rural community and there is livestock in nearby fields. Many of the numerous local footpaths and bridal ways cross farmland.

The bedroom is lockable with a key to the external door and a bolt on the internal door.
The television in the room is equipped with subtitles, Freeview and DVD (blu-ray) player
The bedroom has downlighters, controllable from the door and bedside. There are also bedside lamps on each side of the bed, operated by a switch below the bulb.
The duvets and pillows are goose feather and down. Synthetic pillows are available on request.
Heating is thermostatically controlled and we are happy to alter on request. There are 2 radiators in the bedroom, with a heated towel rail in the bathroom.
There is a Velux roof window with opening pole and remote controlled blackout blind in the bedroom. There is also an inward opening main window with opening width to 11cm. The window catch is 185cm from floor level. There is a single casement window in the en-suite bathroom.
The bedroom is supplied with a well-stocked beverage tray, including teas, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits and Danish pastries. Chilled fresh milk and filtered water is in the silent running in-room mini-fridge. If you wish for any of this to be removed before your arrival please let us know.
There is mobile phone access within the house, but coverage can be patchy.
Free wi-fi access is available and password will be provided.
A cordless telephone handset on the house phone line can be made available for guest use on request.
People with nut allergies should be aware that we do use nuts
We are happy to supply soya milk, decaffeinated coffee or tea or other alternatives on request. Please request these in advance of your stay
We are happy to offer dog sitting services in the evening for guest dogs that would like to socialise with our dog Purdy. We regret we cannot offer the service to guest dogs that don’t like to socialise.
There is an outside tap with lead hook outside The Baker’s Suite with dog towels and dog throw provided.
We offer overnight laundry and/or drying service.
